In the spring and summer of 2015, Caitlin Eby was the principle lighting designer for the first "Activate Midwest New Play Festival" at Western Michigan University. As part of the festival, she designed the lighting for 16 ten-minute plays written by WMU English students which were directed and performed by Theatre Students. Additionally, she designed the lighting in WMU's Zack L. York Arena for 5 full length plays from regional playwrights selected from over a hundred submissions.  The winning play, Cane River King was remounted in the Victory Gardens Richard Christiansen Theatre, in Chicago IL where the original cast and designers evolved the production. As part of the remount, Caitlin Eby also designed the main scenic element - a gothic inspired window which hung upstage with a corresponding custom gobo.
